Truly, we both give and receive the Sacraments according to the institution of Christ. Moreover, we receive them from our Lord Jesus Christ himself, though through the hand of the minister, just as we also receive the gospel from him, though through the mouth of the minister or preacher. What do we lack here that would prevent us from keeping the true gospel? Since we have been reconciled to God through faith in Christ and have become sons of God, we confess that we believe, teach our children, invoke, pray, give thanks for, and hear the Word of God, and persevere in it. This is the true worship of God according to the first three commandments.
