Omnipotent and everlasting God, whom all creatures know and confess to be Governor and Lord, but we your creatures, created to your own image and likeness, ought at all times to fear, adore, love, and praise your godly majesty—first for our creation, but principally for our redemption when we were dead and lost in sin; grant to us your most unprofitable servants, that we come together to celebrate the Supper of your beloved Son Jesus Christ, our only Lord and Savior, and that we might do the same with sincere faith, in remembrance of him, and thanksgiving to you for your most liberal kindness shown, granted, and given to us by your Son our Lord Jesus, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, world without end. Amen.
